How to be eco-fashionable

How to be eco-fashionable

Eco-fashionable means a lot of things in today's world of ecological and environmental sabotage by unscrupulous corporations and the people who feed into this "destruction of the earth syndrome." Eco-fashionable means

* not destroying the environment

* supporting ecology and biodiversity

* supporting the global economic system of supply and demand by not supporting huge conglomerate corporations

* keeping the peace with earth

* not doing anything that helps in the destruction of our planet - Earth - includes all people, plants, animals, water, and air

* not upsetting the natural order of things in our intricate web of life

What is the clothing style of the Eco-fashionable?

Eco-Fashionabl e people don't wear leather. They don't wear leather shoes, purses, coats, or jackets. They also don't wear fur. They are also fashionable regarding the ecology and the environment and carry cloth bags instead of using plastic. They use organic make-up products and cruelty-free make-up - make-up that hasn't been tested on animals.

NOT WEARING LEATHER

Why don't eco-fashionable people wear leather? Most items made from leather today come from the cow. The production of the cow for meat is destroying the environment.

Those people who are concerned about the environment don't eat meat, especially beef and veal meat from the cow. They also don't wear the clothes made from the skins.

The reason they don't eat the meat or wear the skins is all about not supporting the market that deals in meat - leather goods, beef and veal for consumption.

If you buy anything related to the cow, you are feeding into the global economic system of supply and demand. If you demand the product by purchasing it, there will be more supply.

People who are concerned about the environment do not wear leather. When they don't wear leather they are not supporting the slaughter industry, the leather fashion industry, the wholesale meat packing industry, the retail meat industry, and all industries that go along with raising cattle for meat and leather. The hope is that a lower demand will cause a lower supply.

And the biggest hope is that supply will stop all together.

Today in the mass-production of cattle for meat - veal and steak, cows are shipped to grazing pastures in stifling hot trucks. Many of them die before reaching their destination. The grazing pastures are often in rainforests that have been cut down and replanted with grass for grazing. This practice destroys the rainforests. The rainforests
