There is something incredible about the power of words, something truly miraculous in our ability to create with them. A pen in hand with words spilling over the paper creates a certain connection between people; a connection you are unable to find anywhere else. When people write it is their chance to give away a part of themselves, it gives an escape from the harsh realities of the world, or it brings a chance to shed some light on these realities. Once you've read those words you have become united to the writer and all else who read them. You begin to think about the same topic, and share a bit of someone else's world in the process. Now you have the equal chance to form an opinion, and find others who share in that opinion. Whether you agree or not is a different matter, the point is you are now both united; you are both interested in that topic. From those opinions you begin to form relationships with the people you discuss the writing with, from those relationships come new view points and with new view points change often follows. That change may just be in your personal life, but if the circumstances fit it can go to a much higher level.
Look at some writing from the past. The Bible, the Koran, the Torah, constitutions etc; someone wrote them and they spread out to the corners of the world. People are united in what they say, united in the belief of it's truth or fault, the words bind people from all nations together giving them the ability to live life in a similar way in completely separate cultures.
Words have power, new thoughts, ideas, new hates, new fears all originated from someone's words. The entire world may not agree but they can all be influenced through the power of the pen and united in the in the fact that those words can mean something to them.
