Butterflies.....
Holes in the wall reminded me of those real bad fights.
Circles under my eyes told of sleepless nights.
Losing my voice was a sign of my yelling.
Bruises on my arms were scars of telling.

I have come so long from that bad time.
Now I can proudly say we're all fine.
I never used to know if I could do it.
But now I know how I got through it.

Butterfly kisses on my nose.

Raindrops fallen on a rose.
Beauty in the blue sky.
Baby birds waiting to fly.
The wonders of nature
Showing me there is no hurt.
Hugs from the wind
Saying my life's to begin.
And when I was feeling so low
I'd watch the butterflies.

Packing up all my clothes and leaving in the night.
I got so tired of doing it all the time.
We'd stay away only for a few days.
And then we'd return to the spots of gray.
