To give is always better than to receive. I can only speak for myself but I have found that each time I give I am so much happier. Giving comes in all forms, to give peace by shutting your mouth when you are the one who must have the last say in every matter, is not only pleasing to the person who is receiving this peace but also to yourself because you have just relieved yourself of stress. Giving love is always the best because it has the ingredients of caring, generosity, nurturing, and the list goes on. When you love a person or persons there is no guarantee that the love will be returned but in your heart you can say to yourself you know how it feels to love, some people will never know, so this is a blessing on your part. People give gifts during the Holidays, usually gifts such as; jewelry, clothes, books, etc. but I give gifts to organizations that are in need of funds for immunizations for children through out the world, monetary gifts to feed families. I have discovered so many ways to help people during the holidays that it makes me feel so worthy knowing I helped feed a child today or provided funds for clean water in an area that has contaminated water. Times are rough for people, especially hard working people and people that are struggling on a daily basis, so for Christmas and special occasions I always give a check to a family member to help pay an utility bill, if there are children in the family I provide a check to help make their Christmas merry. Last year there was a young woman, a senior in college with a six year old, this woman had no financial help but asked if someone could help make her child's Christmas special. No way on this earth would I be able to sleep knowing that some kid would get up in the morning to open toys and there would not be any. I sent her mom a visa gift card with a limit of two hundred and fifty dollars, her mom thanked me over and over and told me without that money her child would not have had a Christmas. Guess what I had another great Christmas because I knew that kid would wake to presents under the tree, and what made it even better was the fact that her mom graduated in May of 2007 and in return she will adopt a child through the same organization so she can make some kid's Christmas great! I suppose that answers why it's great to give than to receive, but whether you know it or not, you are receiving when you give, you may not see it but you can feel it and it's great!
