Worship: A love relationship

No, man was not created "for the sole purpose of worship God!"

His instruction to Adam was, "Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it." (literally, according to New American Standard [Genesis 1:28-30], "God blessed them; and God said to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.' Then God said, 'Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food"; and it was so.")

Many think we love God because He was so nice to in creating this world for us, who did not even thank Him for it before we crucified Him for being such a great guy when He came to correct humanity's marred view of His instructions.

But we don't love Him for that! We love Him because He Is Love! We can't NOT love Him! Even if we only mention Him to explain how much we hate Him, He gets a small thrill from the mention of His name (not to mention the fact that it's a little more fun for Him to judge you "out" [throwing you to the suffering you'll have to go through for Denial of The Name] if He can also point out the regret you'll have all eternity to live with.)
