Grief: Coping with the death of a child

My Son, Nicholas "passed away" two years ago from Musculary Dystrophy (he died in October, right before my birthday). I tried to prepare myself. I new he was dying, He Never knew, so he lived his life. Nicholas graduated High School with high honors (some were given to him because of his handicap, this I know)
My Son, married a young woman with Spina-bifida. He achievied every goal he set for him. His life was a study in "Living Life"
The Doctors said he would not live past 13. I never told him, why would I?
It is impossible for the bumblebee to fly, it's wings are to small, it's body is to large, etc. BUT! No one told the bee.
With that point in mind, Nicholas lived long past 13. He was 22.
When his body cramped and the tears fell and he got angry, I told him he had 10 minutes to worry about him. After that he had to go on untill the next time the cramps became really unbearable again.
What happened was "Nicholas watching the clock and forgetting all pain"
My Son asking; "Mom, how much time do I have left?"
These are the smiles and giggles I carry in my heart, as I carry my Son.
See? No matter what happens in life, there are always smiles to remember.
I work in the world of the restaurant. This year, I decorated two trees,
windows, a dining room and more.
I was loopy for two years yet, I resurfaced. (a long road for me)
I'm not sure if you will hear me. I hope you do. Life Goes On!
Whether you like it or not. Surround yourself with the love that is out there for you.
You Matter, More Then You Know! You , with the strength you have now, will help others.
If you are not able to get past the pain, then their life was a waste. You and I both know that IS NOT TRUE!
