At Disney shows, we've performed with acts like B5, Greg Raposo, Jillian Wheller, Aaron Carter, Angel Faith, Skye Sweetnam, Toby Lightman, and Fan 3 to name a few."
In 2005, Jada was invited to The Grammy Awards and were interviewed on the red carpet during the live broadcast for MTV, E! Entertainment and VH-1 with excerpts from the broadcast later shown on CBS. Other television appearances have included being on the modern lifestyle channel XY.TV, The Holiday Lights Concert on ABC, and the Charlie Moore Show on NECN. All of these opportunities gave Jada the chance to perfect their vocal harmonies and to play alongside such pop artists as JoJo, Aaron Carter, The Plain White T's, Bobby Valentino, B5, Stacie Orrico, Skye Sweetnam, Cassidy, and many others.
Lauren expresses, "Performing live, it's no holds barred. You have one chance to sing your parts in the moment so you need to be focused in a different way (from singing for a studio recording) and you're concentrating on all the other aspects of a live performance - choreography, keeping the energy level high and keeping the pace and flow of the show seamless, etc. We feed plenty of energy from the audience, so it's more fun."
With so many live performances in Jada's portfolio to choose from, their managers Ric and Laura Poulin felt it was time to consider a recording contract for Jada and to schedule time in the recording studio for the foursome's debut album. With a few songs already written by Jada and their producer RIc Poulin including the spicy R&B/dance-pop number "Obvious" and the hip-hop/trance grooves of "Work It," the Poulin's scheduled auditions with major record labels in New York City where Jada performed a cappella in the executives offices.
Lauren recalls, "Showcasing was a process for sure. We spent several days a week for three weeks in New York City meeting label executives and performing a 3-song audition in front of them. Most people were really cool and excited about us. It was overall a FUN experience."
She recounts, "The first time we showcased was for Epic/Sony Records and we were almost late to the meeting, but we pulled it off! We drove down to New York City that morning after getting NO sleep the night before, and by the time we made it to our hotel to drop our things off, we had about 30 minutes before showcase time. We all had to get ready in no time, so I had to shower in another room to save time. I was rushing so much that I ended up running to the elevator to get to my room
