You can use many affiliate programs and to name a few like Click Bank, Commission Junction, Amazon, Ebay, and when somebody clicks on in link and buys something you get the commission because they came from your website. Some such as eBay and Amazon pay commissions based on performance, which means that the more you sell the bigger your commission is.

Amaozon is a little similar with eBay, and they have a cool feature: they let you build a shop with the products you choose and palce it on your website. The bad part is that they have the lowest commissions. They have many types of ads and you can choose some of themand see which ones fit best on your page.

To make a website really more effective combine different affilate programs. Use ebay + click bank + amazon on the same page but in different page areas. These brands are well know so it will build costumer trust. Try for example on the top put a banner promoting a clickbank product. On the right or left side of the page put an Ebay auction ad and on the bottom Amazon products. Try to build a complete shop, for example, a shop with a computer, a screen, a mouse, a keyboard, and some extras, so your reader might buy them all because they complement each other!
