Oh, the thrills of contacting eBay! As a fellow eBayer, I've had several times where I've found it necessary to speak to the powers that be of the internet auction giant. There are actually a few different ways to contact them depending on what your need is.

You will notice a Live Help link in the right hand corner of eBay's home page. This will put you directly in contact with an eBay customer service representative in a live chat. Upon clicking on this link, you will have a chat box pop up on your computer screen that will ask you for your username and the subject of your question. Once entered, you will be connected to live support. Although this is a nice feature, it only allows you to ask basic questions. The customer service reps have limited knowledge, but that is only because they are trained in specific general eBay help topics. If they cannot answer your question, they will direct you to a link to email your requests to the correct department. Another negative thing about this service is that you usually are put into a queue upon entering the chat, and have to wait at least 5-10 minutes before you get help. The positive thing about the live help is that gives you an instant answer, but only if it is a general question.

The other way to contact eBay is by clicking on the Help link in the upper right hand corner. This will provide links to their Contact Us page. This page has 8 topics you can choose from to voice your concern. After you have answered the questions and submitted your query to eBay, it usually takes at the minimum 2 business days before you get a response from them. I have always gotten prompt responses to my emails, even thought sometimes it's not exactly the answer I wanted to get!
