Absolutely. When the Bratz dolls first came out, my sister-in-law and I were horrified. We absolutely could not believe that manufacturers targeting a young female audience, would think it appropriate to dress the dolls in the attire that they had. If our daughters had asked for clothing along the lines of the Bratz dolls we would have been horrified. As it is, I believe that the manufacturer was completely wrong in their clothing choice.
The type of clothing that adorns the Bratz dolls is completely inappropriate for young girls. Especially considering that the age range targeted by the Bratz dolls is an age at which young girls are especially susceptible to suggestion, and are beginning to look for ways to make themselves "better" or more in touch with the "popular" styles.
Although I am still unconvinced that the Bratz Kidz dolls are appropriate for a young female audience, I do believe that they are significantly more appropriate than the original Bratz Dolls. Not only are they slightly more covered, but by making them appear almost "baby-like", I think that they move more towards the lines of fantasy and make-believe instead of the realm of "life-like" toys. While I'm glad the manufacturer made some effort to release a more appropriate line, I still think there is a large area of ground to be covered before they're truly appropriate.
