Car insurance reviews: USAA

In today's world of commerce where customer service is usually no more than an ad slogan, imagine dealing with a company that truly wants to do all it can for you. A company that constantly listens to its customers to see which services they can add or how they can serve you better. Imagine a company that pays you a dividend for being a policyholder.
This company isn't fiction, as a matter of fact, it is a private company that has been in existence for service men and women and their families since 1922.

While my tenure with USAA does not extend that long, my experiences with USAA for the past ten years have always exceeded my expectations. Whether calling to report an accident or just to get a quote on a new car, I always hang up feeling great that I belong to USAA.
To start, calls are answered quickly; I can't remember the last time I waited to speak to a representative, and recently, when switching cars on my policy, the rate I received was exceptional and they had the new insurance binder faxed into the dealer within ten minutes. Not bad.

The few times I have dealt with them regarding accidents they were with me every step of the way, even offering to call the other insurance company to ensure everything was going smooth and being handled properly. There is good reason this company was labeled by BusinessWeek magazine number one in their listing of the top twenty-five companies that excel in customer service.
The only downside to USAA, is that they are open only to active and retired officers and enlisted military personnel, spouses, and adult children.

So while a lot of drivers constantly switch car insurance (as is evident by the ton of junk mail I receive from the other car insurers) to save this or that, I can honestly say I'm not even tempted to, and I bet six million other policyholders agree with me.
