Global Warming
What is the truth?
The land is crazy about global warming. People are scared. But nothing gets done about it. G.W. Bush starts a war with Iraq and might still start one with Iran. If bombs keep going off like they are at the moment, than it won't help one little bit against global warming. I am sure that when a bomb goes off, it releases lots of so called 'greenhouse gases'. Imagine how much it would contribute to global warming if an atomic bomb goes off. The thing is that when politicians finally decide what to do, they will say: We can do something against global warming. The project will be finished by 2020. Taxes will go up, because it will cost us 50 million pounds.' It would not be finished by 2030 and the taxes will have gone up even more because of this project. Any excess money won't be paid back to the people, but put into other projects.
Don't you ever think that some politicians try to intimidate you into believing their cause by naming terrifying, and often inaccurate facts? If they really wanted to do something against global warming, then they should actually tell us what to do. But they don't. Offhand, I could tell you at least ten simple things that us mere mortals can do against global warming right now, for instance turn off the lights when you aren't in the room. Or you could switch off the TV or computer when not on it. I have heard nothing of the sort from politicians, not even from Al Gore.
Don't politicians just love to go on and on about CO2. CO2 this, CO2 that. In reality, there are much worse greenhouse gases. Methane (CH4) is a greenhouse gas 23 times stronger than CO2. In Siberia, there is a huge amount of permafrost, which is soil and dead plants and other such things frozen in ice. If the permafrost were to melt, it would release huge amounts of Methane into the atmosphere. It is melting. I have only heard this from one source (Earth: The Power of the Planet' on BBC2 England). So why do we hear so much about CO2, but nothing about other more potent greenhouse gases? There is an answer. Politicians try to sell you eco friendly' products which they support, but make little or no difference on the large scheme of things. One of these products is the low energy light bulb. Another is the electric car. Other things like air travel, which has much more effect on the climate, are simply not mentioned. So, in short, whilst it may be that it is getting warmer, politicians are using global warming as a way of earning money.
