If you have just adopted, bought, or have been gifted a cat in your home you should know there is a list of poisonous plants to your cat. You should be knowledgeable in which are safe and which are not. I have 2 cats myself and if you love your cats as much as I love mine, then you might want to know what plants are harmful to your little furry friend and what are safe. I have a list of safe plants and poisonous plants to cats listed in Alphabetical order below.
Please note that that if you have a plant and it is not listed, double check with your pet store or veterinarian for advice.
*Plants safe for your cat*:
You can grow Catmint, Thyme, Sage, Parsley, Chickweed, Lawn Grass, Colt's Foot Grass, or Cereal Grass such as Wheat or Oats or possibly ask your pet store if they have them or anywhere else you can buy them from.
Should your feline friend eat part of a poisonous plant, rush the cat to your veterinarian as soon as possible. If you can, take the plant with you for identification.
Also, The Animal Poison Control Center is a unique, emergency hot-line providing 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week telephone assistance to veterinarians and animal owners. There is a $50 consultation fee paid by the animal owner, veterinarian or product manufacturer.
