Presidential Elections 2008

Who will the neo-cons endorse for the 2008 elections?

Let's drop the neo and admit to being only conservative or liberal. New conservatives have been around since the Republican Party as well as new liberals being around since the Democratic Party. People have switched parties down through time.

The values one holds and the traditions one wants to hang on to tend to go with the Republican Party in not wanting change. Tending to conserve, preserve being cautious and restrained also help define conservatives.

The on line dictionary says a much nicer definition of liberal or liberalism as being: Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry. Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded. Not strict or literal; loose or approximate.

All these things make it sound so nice. Leaving the Republican conservatives open to be stuffy old board room coots who are set in their ways. In that sense Liberalism sounds so good and so much nicer than conservative.

But let us take a closer look, traditional family values are being eroded and taken away daily and with no disregard as to what it is doing to the rights of the American Family. All of this is not for the better of this country by any standards except to the liberals who are secularists and of the New Age Movement who want the moral decline of established family life to become the norm.

Parenting is being replaced by state and local government forcing things upon parents through the school systems that are headed by liberals and secularists who do not have a vested interest in the family. Religious rights and freedoms are being taken away every day from Christians yet expanded in other religions. No bigotry in liberals? Since when does bigotry only exist in conservatives, that is totally ridiculous, there is more bigotry represented in the liberal media outlets that support any kind of conservative bashing than there is anywhere.

Liberals like reform only if it suits their agenda.

Liberals having the hold on being open to new ideas, is the first I knew of that one. I guess Ronald Reagan's quote to "Tear down that wall," had been quoted so many times before by so many other fine liberals who just weren't strong enough to say it the world.

The best part of the meaning of liberalism is being tolerant of ideas and behavior of others; in other words broad-minded, if it weren't such a lie it
