Elected Officials Lack The Courage To Act On Behalf Of The American People

The government has failed on a number of issues that should have been addressed decades ago but have been ignored for so long that the problems have become out of control. Take illegal immigration for example, back in 1986,there were only a few million illegal aliens living here under the radar and amnesty was the order of Congress. What did this bring? Nothing more than a few more million illegal aliens crossing the border. The tax code is another headache for most people to deal with, unless they are trained Certified Public Accountants who know the tax code and all its changes every year and new exceptions to previously established rules from the past year. Why not just a flat tax on consumer goods, proper property taxes that do not break the bank every year? This makes far more sense than the current system of taxing everything and anything. People have signed numerous petitions asking for the end to the Iraq war, an end to illegal immigration, an impenetrable fence along the southern border, but what does the government do about it? Nothing, in fact, less than nothing but deliberately ignoring the clear will of the people. Oh sure, they pay lip service to taking care of these problems just to get themselves re-elected again, but then they do not follow through on their campaign promises. They say that they are not in favor of outsourcing, but yet refuse to write legislation to prevent corporations from outsourcing or punishing outsourcing companies by making them forfeit a larger portion to the government. The US imports far more than it exports, precisely because our manufacturing base has left the country. China has had more problems with quality control than it should have: lead in paint used for kids toys, poisons in toothpastes, contaminated pet foods that may poison our beloved pets. Where is the outcry against this? It is our own government that is responsible for allowing corporations to outsource to countries that could not give a rip about the health of US citizens, much less about the health and welfare of their own citizens. The government does nothing to these companies that contract with counterparts in China to make certain that quality control measures are adhered to. This is a total outrage and a near deliberate act of war to any thinking person, why the officials in government have not figured this out is beyond comprehension.
