of course containment of costs. We run our health center similar to a private practice. Because of the population we serve, often our clients have not received comprehensive health care, so we must provide a higher level of enabling services within each visit in order to ensure that the quality of care remains at a high level. Similarly, like private practices, we are driven by evidence-based medicine and produce outcome-based data to justify the grant funding we receive. Like a private practice, we receive much of our revenues from third party insurances so we are continually monitoring our Accounts Receivable in order to optimize the revenue from all different payor sources using metrics and indicators to help us measure success and pinpoint areas in need of improvement.
We are part of a 40 plus year old movement-federally qualified health centers that provide care to the most vulnerable of populations and act as a safety net in our community. At the end of the day, that is no small thing. We take the responsibility of serving our community very seriously and therefore, the level of sophistication in which we carry out our mission and vision mirrors that of private sector. We use technology to enhance the quality of health care, we offer professional development and continued education to all our employees, and we are experts at coalition building with other health care providers in order to provide high quality care across the continuum with the ultimate goal of impacting the health status of the population we serve.
