It's another summer about to make way for a new exciting school year! (yes I know it just started)
Mom's ,Dad's and even Grandparents are getting their funds figured out according to what's required and who needs what.
If you'd like to get at least a little organized start with a calendar.
Don't panic...I only said calendar (*Smile)
Making a place for a large calendar where all events are written along with notes concerning them is very important and can be a life saver at the last minute!
Now let's back up and talk about the school year and when it begins. Find out if you don't know by calling the Superintendent of the Schools for your area or call your local school if they are open (many are just open in the morning).
WRITE IT ON THE CALENDAR.
Now everything relevent to that subject should be noted in your dayplanner. (if you don't have a dayplanner get one for you and one for each child, there are some reasonable ones out there)
SUPPLIES: (ask for a list or have the secretary email you if she will)
Make sure you have copies for all grades.
Keep a file with sales/coupons/receipts/etc. Label it SCHOOL 2007.YOU WILL NEVER BE SORRY YOU'VE DONE THIS!
A Bulletin board for all notes to be pinned up when the kids arrive home can be a saving grace too.Let the kids know you will read them when you get time.(and be sure the bulletin board is at their height)
It works the same with tests they've aced ,etc. Let your kids know their work is important and you really need to look at the papers when you are not doing 50 other things!
My kids used to line them up on my nightstand so I would see that during a time when I was relaxed and could appreciate them! It really worked well for me.
Now let's talk about children, summer schedules and how they don't match school schedules...to be fair to your children you have to inconvenience them.
To get the summer schedule changed start two weeks before summer. WAKE THEM UP at the same time you would to get ready for school.
This will help their clock inside them become adjusted to the school schedule.
Feed them on time at lunch and supper if you can so they can get used to that again.
There is a ton more things to do and think about doing. Try to prioritize and acknowledge serious needs.
Line up physicals,dr visits for vaccinations before you have to..it's much easier to plan, especially if you are working.
Here's a website with more information.
Have a wonderful 2007 school year!
