is best because you will learn about temperatures, night noises and how the ground feels beneath you. It is nature, still safe, but more up close and personal than most of us are used to. However, if you're not the up close and personal type, rent a cabin.
No matter how you bunk you can still benefit from the natural locale and all the hikes you'll want to take. Take advantage of the tours your camp grounds might offer, and make sure to read up on the flora and fauna of your chosen area. Make certain you leave things just as you found them. The only thing you should take from nature, is pictures.
LEARN ABOUT EVERYDAY NATURE
What sorts of insects are in your backyard? What sorts of animals? Even if you live in the city there are always bits of nature peeking out from between the buildings. Spend some time in the park. If you live in the country keep tabs on wild animals and farm animals. Know the names of the trees that surround your house. Plant a garden. Even a windowsill garden is part of nature. Take time to appreciate the seasons where you live.
TEACH YOUR CHILDREN ABOUT WHAT INTERESTS YOU MOST
Knowledge is contagious. Especially when it involves something the teacher is really enthusiastic about. If you find something fascinating, share it with your child. Chances are you'll spark the same interests in them. Ask as many questions as you can think of. Find the answers together.
