The ever increasing problem of raising tolerant children cannot be solved in just a few words. But I belive its all about one word:exposure! If a parent exposes their child to different ethinicities from the time they begin to crawl, it will indelibly live with them forever. They will grow up learning how to be tolerant of others, themselves, different environments and life's ups and down. However, no exposure to change can breed one damn rotten, racist, self righteous, (fill in the blanks) type of person.
Lots of top policitcal leaders try to give off the impress as though the above dangers do not exist but why are nooses turning up so much across the United States. A noose was found on a Columbia Univeristy Professor's office door, on a police officers locker door, at several schools, and the list goes on.
If exposure was prevalent from the beginning of a child's formulative years this would not be so. They would learn to be tolerant of all races and not give in to emblems of hate.
I will digress here, and let you ponder on my one word to solve this problem of intolerance, exposure, what do you think? If you weren't exposed to certain things in life, would you have been as tolerant as you are today?
