The benefits of parenting advice from experienced mothers

First time moms and dads are usually eager to get some valuable help, and feedback from other parents in their area. Of course its not always easy to meet new people, and you can't exactly approach another mother on the street. That's why its important for new moms to reach out to those around them.

Its fairly easy for new moms to make friends, especially if they know where to look. One place to look for new friends is a "Mommy & Me" type group. These groups are becoming increasingly more popular, and aren't limited to older kids either. Some of the more popular groups are the ones for new mothers. These groups allow new moms to meet together for a few hours a week, and while the kids are sleeping or crawling around on the floor, the moms can bond together. This is a great opportunity to meet with other mothers, and share ideas, stories, or even frustrations.

If there aren't any groups like this in your area, why not start one yourself? You can advertise online for free, and suggest a meeting place where everyone will feel comfortable. In the colder months it can be a local restaurant, and in the summer all the new moms can meet at a small park, or playground. You can also advertise at local grocery stores, toy stores, or doctors offices.

Sometimes new moms don't want to leave the house, or leave their baby for any period of time, and those parents can look to the internet for help. There are many websites that offer advice, and tips for new mothers, and many of those websites have message boards. All it takes to register on one of the message boards is an email address, and a user name. With a few clicks, you can be part of that world and posting comments and questions. Even if you don't want to post anything, you can still earn valuable information simply by reading what others have wrote.

The wisdom of experienced mothers is something that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. People who want to have children, or plan on having children in the future, have their own ideas about child rearing, but only someone who has been there and experienced that, can provide the best answers. Take for instance the new mom who thinks she can put the baby in a stroller, go for a walk, and then leave the baby sitting quietly, while trying on clothes. The experienced mother will hear that story, laugh, and then point out that it just isn't possible. Just as you get the shirt over your head, the baby will start crying, and you'll find yourself stuck in a store with people glaring at your back.

Experienced mothers provide more information, wisdom, and experience than anyone else can, even fathers. They are the ones who have sat up nursing a baby with colic, had their breasts leak in public, and felt those glares from other people. They have been there, and experienced everything, both the ups and downs, and can teach new mothers what to do, and what to expect.
