Let's be clear, poverty is a condition, not a person. The best rebuke to this statement is the fact that, ignorance is the worst polluter. Second only to laziness, then, outright disrespectful people. I can say this, because I live in the country and watch all of the above, including some of the very poorest people in our nation and how they pollute or abstain from it. Nevertheless, you can live or visit anywhere and see the proof.

Based on the people around us, (some of) the poorest of the poor actually have more respect for the environment then any other people. Now I know, people immediately think of the proverbial "trailer trash" when they consider their emotional response to this. No doubt, driving down the back roads of our nation, we will see many homesteads fitting into this inappropriately named category. I am just not willing to make a blanket statement to that end, because I know of the exact opposite also occurring all around our world. We have millionaires here who own their own backhoes or bulldozers. Just because they have the ability to hide their diapers and trash under the dirt and plant a tree on it, does not mean they are cleaner or more respectful to the environment. They just found a way to pass on their ignorant polluting and or disrespect for the environment to another generation. Make no mistake, one day, if Islam does not wipe us out first, we will have to deal with Mr CEOs personal hidden trash in the back forty.

With that fact made, one can make the opposite argument, that even a piggish poor person who has tons of litter all over their yard is actually less harmful. Simply because, sooner rather then later, it will have to be picked up, and it is a whole lot easier to find.

Then we have the popular misconception that the poor people drive around in older oil and gas-burning automobiles while the rich have cleaner, therefore the poor are polluting the skies more. Again, I say to you, this is true, but the rich have their set of equally harmful ways of committing the same amount, if not more air pollution. I will give you just one example. A poor person's old smoky car is chugging down the road polluting. He goes home to his tiny lot of land overgrown with weeds that he does not generally care about and throws his McDonalds bag on the ground before he enters his palace on wheels. Now that I have made that reckless disregarding of respect for the poor statement, think about this one. A rich man drives home (after
