A baby boomer's guide to health and long life

creativity and memories are enhanced during these 'natural highs.' We are more open to new things and ideas, fostering innovation and artistry.

During times of stress, crisis, or anguish, laughter can helps us to perceive ourselves and our environment in a different light. Low moods are lifted after finding humor even under difficult and frustrating circumstances. Humor creates a connection between loneliness in one, and cheerfulness in another. Finding a way to laugh about a seemingly insurmountable problem can help us to see the problem in a different light, allowing it to seem less intimidating and more manageable.

Go Out On The Town, And Dance!
Dancing, like so many art forms and methods of self-expression, allows the mind and the body to do what they were meant to do - exist in harmony with their surroundings, responding to stimuli.

If you feel you've got two left feet, look into classes at your local community center or college. Chances are they offer dance classes in various genres. Another option is dance lessons via DVD.

Dance isn't just moving the feet in the right order. It is also moving them to produce both flowing and exact movement. As with anything, it takes time, but the rewards are far-reaching - no more wall-flowering,' more confidence in yourself - not to mention some muscle toning! But the more significant benefit? Any suppressed creative expression (http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=dMH0bHeiRNg) is being allowed to seep into your life. You may find yourself feeling so much more self-aware and alive.
