Fantastic and why not? Is it really all about profit margins and contracts? Indeed to Prince it is not and again he has given back to his fans for all the years they have stood behind him and his great contribution he has made to our evolve of music greats! The fact that Prince has once again told the music publishing community that hey it's my music and I'll do with it what I want deserves a thumbs up.
I admire Prince for his tough stance with music publishers and recording companies. I whole heartedly believe that artists should be able to have greater control of their art and the way it is handled and marketed. Prince is a pioner in self promotion and has blue printed in his industry what most successful minded companies and entrepreneurs have done over the past decade by maximizing his potential by cutting out the middle men.
It's brilliant and if more artists behaved the way Prince does the recording industry would surely be faced with a decision on changing their ways. From his explosion into the Internet marketing of his albums to creating his own label and marketing company, Prince has taken control of his career and again he has stressed to the music industry that indeed it is after all his career!
I look forward to seeing Prince innovate new idea's and ways to make his music his own, I welcome his idea's and support his charisma on becoming more independent from the greedy bids of controlling record labels and their dealings, so heres to Prince for once again making a bold move to changing how music artist's package them self's.
