Bride tips: How to choose someone to walk you down the aisle who's not your father

Three father's but only two arms. If I could sprout another arm magically so no one would be insulted, I would. God has given me two arms and technology isn't that advanced yet. It's a shame that I would have to choose which of my fathers gets to share the special day with me, hold my hand, and give me up to my husband. A verdict must be made.

It isn't that I wanted to insult my biological father but he is a complete stranger. By stranger I mean, I don't know anything about him, at all. In his place though, I was blessed with two great fathers who stepped in and raised me. They were my grandfather's and they were both equally close to me and were there for all of the important moments in my life. When I was taking my first steps and breaking new ground, my father's were there to watch me and pick me back up when I fell on my little baby butt. They were there when I'd come home from school crying or even to take care of me when I was unwell. I have an infinite amount of respect for these men because they have showered me with love and I'm so delighted to have them in my life and spend as much time with them as I can. Better than any man in my life, these men have raised me with their own hands.

In any instance the person who walks you down the isle should be your father, but not in the definition we have given the word. Your father should be your provider, the hands that lift you up, whose words are always encouraging, the person who is an infinite amount of love, and most importantly the person who has raised you and impacted your life forever.
