The endless months and hours of planning are all coming to fruition it is your big day. Cold feet happens to everyone. The questions going through your head are enough to make you sick. Don't worry it is alright take a few deep breaths and realize the person you have been making plans with, the person you have told your secrets to, and the person you have said I love you to is still the same person that is going to be there at the end of the aisle to take your hand and go through it with you. He is the person who as well as you has cold feet.
Why do we get this way? Easy it is a big step. It is a lot of money, a lot of time, a lot of our energy, but most of all it is a life long commitment. Commitment, yes I said the big C word. Does that scare you? Yeah it probably does. You look at the person you are about to become one with and you think wow he/she is great now but in two years will it be the same and will I still love them. Well yeah hopefully they will be the same and hopefully you will still be in love. Do things change? Ofcourse they do. You will change together, you will grow together and you will go through lots of emotions together. It is okay to doubt your decision. You have never settled down before and now you are going to. It is scary, it makes your stomach feel uneasy and it makes you question your judgement. Who wouldn't feel scared doubting your own thoughts and feelings?
If you are the Maid of honor who is in charge of helping the bride that has cold feet, you need to reassure her that this is going to be the best day of her life. That she has made a good choice with whom she is going to spend the rest of her life with. Let her know it is a big step but you will be there by here side as well as the man of her dreams. Let her know that it is normal to feel this way and that everything will work out. Let her take some deep breaths, let her talk and then validate everything that she needs to talk about or has doubts about.
Committing to one person is a big step. Some people aren't mature enough to handle it, but in most cases it is just as simple as being nervous. Remember the people who are out there waiting for you to walk down that aisle are family and friends these are the people who have been there for you all your life and today they are there to help you celebrate one of the biggest and memorable days of your life. So don't worry everything will be okay.
