Small weddings: What to do when your friends and relatives that were left off the guest list feel snubbed

It is one of the most memorable days of your life. It should be just the way you want it. Ofcourse nobody ever intends on leaving people out or making someone feel bad. Sometimes it is a financial reason for a smaller wedding than you pictured for yourself.

Whatever the case maybe, it is still your special day. You have the right to choose the food, photographer, color of gowns any attendants in the wedding party will be wearing, and the menu choices as well as the guests that you would most be honored having help you celebrate your big day.

If it is a financial reason that you have to make substantial cuts in your guest list don't feel bad. If this has upset some which ofcourse it will explain to them that the actual wedding will be small but you intend on having a reception somewhere and they are more than welcome to come.

There is nothing wrong with have a backyard BBQ or picnic style reception where people can come and wish the happy couple a lifetime of happiness and help them celebrate a happy day.

Don't let financial difficulties get in the way of what is going to be one of the best days of your life. You are entitled to have fun and to live happy and to do things the way you want. There is always a way to overcome some of the financial hurdles. You may want to have a potluck reception. I know it sounds like such a tacky thing to do but it isn't. You will be more surprised that if your honest enough to say to those guests that would have been left out due to lack of funds, you don't want to leave anyone out so you decided to go with a potluck reception would they be willing to make a dish? The answer more than anything is going to be yes. They are going to feel as if they are helping the happy couple, they aren't going to be left out, and everyone will have a great time with a lot of different dishes which didn't turn out to be an expense to you.

Enjoy your day. Don't have any regrets about the decisions you make. Life is too short to start off on the wrong foot. You and your beloved deserve to start off on a happy note. Congratulations to the both of you and to a lifetime filled with happy memories.
