Muhammad is the prophet of Islam, he was born in Mecca around the year 570, before he received revelations from God at the age forty, he was known as an honest and sincere man, when he began to preach Islam which promoted peace and equity among human beings, stating that only the deeds of a person matters, not his race nor his powers or ancestors, and that people should worship one god, a lot of people followed him, but he also infuriated the people who worshipped a group of gods and thought that this religion would make them lose their position as the greatest of the tribes, he and his followers were prosecuted and tortured by the unbelievers, but as Mecca was a central trading city a lot of tribes did come and go there, he was able to spread the Islamic faith to other tribes and towns and he emigrated with his followers to the city of Yathrib (now known as al-madina) and after few years when Islam became stronger, he was able to return to Mecca and enter the city again without a drop of blood
And from these days the Islamic civilization flourished with the Islamic faith as its basis, it contributed to different sciences and literature and Islam reached the Far East in China and West in Spain.
Muslims are ordered to follow Prophet Muhammad in his ways, to be just and merciful and sincere as he were, and take the holy Quran which was sent & revealed to him from God through angel Gabriel along with the Sunna (the saying and deeds of prophet Muhammad) as the sources of Islamic faith
