Preparing for history exams is actually very simple. It all starts with paying close attention in class and taking good notes. Every college student should know how to take good notes. Good notes will make or break you. Make sure they are well organized, useful and legible. If you don't pay attention in class, the exams will most likely be difficulty. Cramming is not a good way to go. Spread you time out, studying one section at a time. Do not overwhelm yourself. Only bite what you can chew.
Always ask questions when professors say things that are confusing. Most professors are willing to help students who make a good effort. You have to give a little to get a little. If your disrespectful in class, don't expect help from your instructor.I also suggest doing all the homework, including readings. When studying, glimpse over readings and notes. Write down questions on confusing parts. Once you have compiled these questions, go to your professors office hours. Students should always take advantage of office hours.
I also suggest getting together with a small group of people who are in the same class. You can help each other answer questions. Sharing knowledge can be a great way to prepare for an exam. Explaining things to others also helps personal comprehension. I hope these times help!
