Office exercise for the desk bound, is all around you. Of course, you have to work at getting it, at least until it becomes a habit. I'll list a few examples to get started, and I'm sure you'll find many more on your own once you think about it.
1. Always take the stairs. Unless you're climbing up the cable, there isn't much exercise benefit from an elevator ride.
2. Fidget a lot. Sure, your coworkers may think you've lost your mind, but, in these days of office shootings, they probably won't say anything to your face. Besides, a little side to side swaying while staring at that computer screen keeps your metabolism running so you burn more calories. A bit of arm exercise, disguised as stretching, keeps up the muscle tone, not to mention helps prevent repetitive motion injury.
3. Don't slide your chair back with your feet, use your arms.
4. Keep a dumbbell on your desk, the metal kind not your boss. While you pause to think, pick it up and play with it. Besides, a 25 pound weight keeps important papers in place really well.
5. Keep the things you use most in the bottom drawer. That way your back gets to stay in shape too.
While this doesn't sound like much exercise, over an eight hour day it adds up. Plus, you get paid for doing it.
