If I were president of the US ...

If I were president I would be honest with the American people. I would explain to the American people that their government has for the last 100 or more years sold them out and each and every American now owes more than thirty thousand dollars as part of the national debt. I would explain to the people that the government is deep in debt and still spending on credit cards because they know they won't be held liable for the consequences. I would just be honest with the young people in society and tell them that even though they will be required to pay in social security taxes they should not expect to get any of the benefits because the government can not be trusted with money.

If I were president I would make personal responsibility a national priority. I would be honest with the people and let them know that government can't solve all of their problems. I would make self defence legal again. When society had reasonable ways to settle disputes between men we had fewer issues with "road rage" and mass homicides. Duels, challenges and fights to restore honor would be acceptable and handle within civil rules of society. I would make it illegal to sue someone just because you were hurt on their property one would have to show some sort of gross negligence. I would explain that every government handout is an incentive for one to fail.

If I were president I would explain that the whole argument about illegal aliens is political. I would explain that republicans want cheap labor to drive down wages and democrats want more Latin immigrants for their votes. I would explain that our government is depending on illegal aliens to fix the gap in social security for us since our population growth has stabilized. That we are trading over population in the future for tax revenue now. I would explain that fairness requires that we give just as much consideration to a refuge from Africa as we do to someone from Mexico. Because a country borders ours is no reason that we should accept more immigrants from that country than any other. I would not try to mass deport anyone but I would prosecute any employer that hired an illegal alien. I would have congress clarify the 14th amendment so that it was understood only someone in our country legally could be considered under US jurisdiction so that children could not be used as anchors.

If I were president I would quit giving foreign aid until we balanced our budget. I would have congress pass an amendment demanding that the budget always
