Each one of us can benefit from exercise to strengthen our lungs and muscles. Exercise for lungs can help in improving the functioning of lungs.
People with lung problems cannot breathe properly and therefore feel breathless. They are unable to provide enough oxygen to their muscles and cannot perform even a small exercise called walking.
Breathing,walking and swimming are the best exercises for lungs.
The Diaphragm is the most efficient breathing exercise for lungs. Diaphragm is located at the base of the lungs. The abdominal muscle of the body help in moving the diaphragm and gives lot of power to make the lungs empty.
This exercise helps in :
1. making the less demand for oxygen in the body.
2. Strenghening the diaphragm
3. giving energy to breathe
4. putting less effort while breathing
5. slowing down the breathing rate which decrease the work of breathing.
One should do this exercise on a regular basis for 5 minutes initially and then can gradually increase the time.
Walking is the best and the easiest exercise for lungs. Walk daily for about 30-45 minutes to maintain healthy system and lungs.
Another good exercise for lungs is the aquatic exercise. If water training time is sufficient, this exercise can improve the lung efficiency by 60%.
Deep water exercise while immersing yourself till neck in water can get a super conditioning effect to your lungs and can help you breathe much easier.
By performing these exercises on a regular basis, you will be able to breathe much easier and will remain fit for a lifetime.
