Donating your body to medical science

Donating your body to medical science does not have to be a difficult decision. If one was in a surgery and required an organ they would want it desperately no matter where it came from. Donating your body to medical science is similar in the sense that you are providing those studying at the medical center as well as the science community an opportunity to use your body for a purpose.

Look at it from a practical point of view. Once we are gone we have no use for our bodies. If the organs and the body can be of some use to society then it should be donated for that purpose.
There are a lot of people who wait for organ donation or blood donation and lose their lives due to a short supply. If everyone stepped up and had the large heartedness to donate their organs and bodies to medical science then they would have mitigated this shortage to some extent at least.
If we are willingly going to have ourselves buried or cremated without any further purpose then isn't it better to have those organs or that body serving another more educative or life giving purpose?
Blood donation, organ donation and body donation are some of the greatest deeds that one can do. I think that if everyone stepped up to the cause then we would not be losing so many lives in our hospitals and there won't be so many families waiting desperately to find that donor that will save their loved ones' lives.
Isn't that something to think about?
