To quote writers on writing, is like telling a tale in itself. They are all inspiring. Usually expressing real feelings, those that we have all felt at one time or another. Some of these quotes will provide some food for thought. Others allow us to see and to feel the struggles that we share, with even the most successful of writers.

The famous and the infamous have been driven to write. So with their touch of shared wisdom and wit I share those that have touched a nerve or have provoked a giggle.

*" There are two kinds of writer: Those that make you think, and those that make you wonder."

I would say that to think and to wonder go hand and hand, or maybe just pen in the hand of a writer.

We can learn, we can try , but it is not that simple. It was easy for Ernest, and hard for us at times. Maybe were not aiming right?.

*"Have something to say,and say it as clearly as you can. That is the only secret."

So your telling me there is only one secret. We all know thats hard to believe. But I will pass on the good news to my fellow authors.

Thats what we are talking about, and thats why we are here at Helium, we have so much to say, now only if we could write about it. So, its tale after tale , and even then there is more to tell. Hmmmmmmmm.

Well, I have three books like that !

On reflection, it does help reading quotes from other authors. We learn that the struggles are part of the process and the pains real and common to all that are attracted to this craft. We as writers are always searching for the perfect words to express our feelings ,and to share our views.

We as writers seem to be in a constant search for words that say something that has never been said before. It is this that provides the fuel that keeps our fires burning. It is this that gives us the glow when we succeed.
