I don't think a National Women's Football League would last. Not because it wouldn't be good, but because the money would not be there long. Who would back it, the NFL? Not. To survive it would need money, lots of it and a big fan base. I think it would go the way of the WNBA. It seems to be a novelty and it seems to be dying. The attendance are down at games and I don't know anyone who watches a game on T.V. any longer.
I jumped on the WNBA when it first started. I thought it was cool, the girls could leave college, keep playing their game and make money before going off to cooperate jobs, broadcasting, or home maker. After a couple years I watched less and less to where I don't watch it all anymore.
I think a NWFL would be the same, except I would stick with it longer. It would be interesting a bit longer than basketball. Men would like seeing the women hit, tackle, pass, and run. I can't comment on the level of play as I have never seen a game. Maybe I should search Youtube, to get an idea of what a game looks like.
Well now, having watched some clips on Youtube, yep, I would watch a NWFL games and follow it longer than I did the WNBA. The girls I saw appeared fast, had some moves and can hit. I didn't know there was a team in my area. It's about 200+ miles away, but there is one. To far for a road trip.
I think a NWFL would appeal to a lot of guys and perhaps inspire a few young girls to take up the game. With Strong backing (financial) and big fan support, a league could be viable, but I think it would only be a novelty, compared to the NFL, college, and high school football.
