and Ron Paul: Isn't it kind of sad, yet amusing, to watch Thompson make his grand, late entrance, only to see him implode like the great, white, non-hope he is. Huckabee is an impressive dark-horse in this fray, but realistically he doesn't have the ability to raise enough money for his quest. Paul, on the other hand, has become a master of the internet and all it's riches, but, alas, it won't be enough for a Libertarian to become the Republican nominee.
So, all we are left with, at this point, is predictions.
If Hillary gets the nomination she will pick Bill Richardson to be her running mate. I've read where others say she will pick Barak Obama, but this wouldn't do anything for her. If she's the nominee she has Illinois locked up, so she doesn't need his state. And since Hillary is being so scrutinized she will not pick a primary opponent who only speaks his mind and conscience. Plus, Obama has stated flatly that he will not run for vice president.
Why Bill Richardson? His credentials are impeccable, especially in the areas where Hillary, a sophomore senator without much experience as an elected official, is lacking. Richardson, as an official representative of the U.S. government, has negotiated peace accords in hostile foreign countries. He also has been a successful and popular governor of New Mexico, a border state. In this election where immigration is a hot-button issue, such a proven warrior would provide mega-dittos to a Clinton campaign.
The only reason Hillary wouldn't pick Richardson as a V.P. nominee is to spite former Clinton administration turn-coat Dick Morris, who, based on his inside knowledge as a former top adviser to the first Clinton administration, has already predicted this turn of events.
Who will the Republican V.P. nominee be?
At this point, does it even matter?
