Exploring the concept of free will

Religion - people's beliefs and opinions concerning the existence, nature, and worship of a deity or deities, and divine involvement in the universe and human life has a faith or a creed made about by us, humans.
There are many different facets of religion. Those then are interpreted many different ways. Is it possible we have begun a new religion followed by many and we don't even know it? As I write this what I see is still unclear. I know it's there, I "see" it in our government, our churches, our homes, even in our minds. You see, something is changing the way we think, something we can't see, or touch. I call it a religion for a few reasons. Humans have made this "religion" a creed, a belief to live by, a faith, even have made it a conviction and have died for it, or gave up the happiness in their life for it. Those that have died didn't even know it was taking their one and only life. They didn't even know they were part of this "religion"

We as humans have drastically changed in the past 50 100 years or so. I remember my late grandfather, who was in the navy, telling me stories about World War 2 and the Korean War. He fought in both. He would enlighten me with things like; many solders would lie about their age to go fight. Many were much younger than the requirement of 18 years old. You have to be 18 years old to enlist in the Military back then and still today. I wonder how many of us would lie about our age today. (I wouldn't, but why do I think like that?) The dedication they had to the military and this great nation was immeasurable. He would tell me stories about how many solders died saving another life. Those men and women are now heroes. Back then they were just part of what many were doing.
My grandfather sadly passed away a few years ago. Watching him pass was one of the most beautiful things I've ever witnessed. He had Alzheimer's. As he was in his last day I watched my grandmother caress his face in tears. Though he was still breathing he was gone. His mind had been gone for a few years now. In my mind all I could think about was what it must have been like when they met for the first time. He, a young strapping sailor and she a beautiful young women falling in love, it must have been amazing. Now here we are 60 or so years down the road. The distance in time between them was amazing, 9 kids, many grandchildren and a whole lot of love. Now, here I am watching something so beautiful I knew even at that moment how special it was. It's a moment
