Loser stars one of my favorite actors, Jason Biggs (of American Pie fame) and also my favorite actress Mena Suvari (American Beauty).

Jason Biggs plays Paul, a gullible small-town dork whose greatest desire is to be accepted he is the butt of all jokes, and gets sorts of abuse when he heads off to a New York City college. His party hard, rich-boy roommates (Zak Orth, Tom Sadoski, Jimmi Simpson) know he's a loser, and worthless,so they spend most of the movie looking for ways to take advantage of Paul's good nature. Meanwhile, Paul's love interest comes in the form of a classmate, Dora (Mena Suvari) deals with problems of her own, including an affair with her world literature professor (Greg Kinnear).

As the movie progresses you tend to want to hurt the so called hero, for not sticking up for himself, allowing his ex-roommates to hold a rave in the vet clinic that Paul works at. The fact that he lets Dora think things he's done were done by her 'lover' just makes it worse. This is one of those movies where you just want to tell the 'hero' "Ok thanks for nothing, loser"

Overall the movie is funny, though some of the acting leaves most wanting for more. Biggs and Suvari share good chemistry after being in some of the American Pie movies together, though the parts where they're with others, make me wonder how both are so able to get such good roles.
