the frame and both tires are locked. The best way to do this with one piece of equipment is to remove the front tire and lock it, the back tire, and the frame all together to the bike rack or post you are using. There are some great U-locks on the market, but not everyone is long enough to get around both tires, the bike frame and the post. The best equipment we have found to do this is are a series of chain locks made by Kryptonite

You will find some U-locks on the market that are long enough to lock both tires and the frame as we have described. You can also use more than one piece of equipment to lock tires individually, or take them with you. Don't rely on flimsy cables for the tires. They won't be there when you get back. For the best U-lock out there, we went to the company that innovated the technology, Kryptonite again.

Another great U-lock worth mention comes from OnGuard. The only problem we encountered was the mounting hardware which is designed for a lighter model U-lock produced by OnGuard.
