No one is truly sane. We all have an area in our minds that is host to the grisly madness. It is always there, but not always noticed. Some people call upon it, to keep them safe from the horrors of the world. Others cringe, afraid of losing themselves in the blackness. It can be your sanctuary or your curse. Some are thrown into the abyss unknowing and never return. They are forever lost in the blank space, unknowing of the dangers that await them there, the terrible screams and whispers that haunt your dreams.
Only you can protect yourself. No one can keep you safe if you sink too deep into yourself and cant find your way back. Some can reach into their madness and come out unscathed. Others get lost and come out burned. They begin to rely on the familiar calm that engulfs them and revel in it. They are unaware to the growing strength of it and lose control. That is when the pain begins. It is like a throbbing in the back of your mind. The whispers tell you evil secrets. You think its crazy at first, then they begin to make sense. You become a slave to it. You do what you are told, uncaring of the consequences.
If you ever try to find you inner monster, do not to lose yourself on the way. The nightmare you will face may not end.
