Like all holidays Halloween is based on pagan beliefs, but as a child I didn't care where Halloween came from. All I could think about about was what costume I would wear & just how much candy I would come home with by the end of the night. Now as adult I see Halloween for what it really is. Satin's holiday. There is no better name or one that is more fitting for the so called holiday then that. Most people go to church or some form of religious meeting from time to time to pray to our God for all that he has done for us. Now this is the part that bothers me the most. These very same people that pray to God, celebrate a holiday where we dress up as witches, demons, murders, the devil, ghosts, & Zombies. Some even play "games" where you can call upon the dead! How can you love God on the one hand yet join in such practices where Satin is clearly in charge? Now I wont pretend to be perfect, nor am I a model Christian that can say I have never sinned, but I can clearly open my eyes & see Halloween for what it is. My husband & I plan on having children someday & I admit it scares me to bring a life into such a mixed up crazy world, but I believe parents can still try to set examples by their own beliefs & experiences. A friend once told me that you can not sit on the fence that is between God & Satin. You have to choose a side that you want to be on. I've chosen a side, have you?
