Holiday sports gift ideas for teen girls are as endless as are the availability of each and every sport for this age level. Usually, but not always by the time a girl reaches the teen years she has begun to specialize in one sport in particular, possibly two. Check with the teen girl in question's parents to see which sport she is most interested in before shopping, and then the possibilities will abound!
For the Golfer: Great additions for this sport lover's collection might include tees, golf balls, a particular club needed to complete her set, certificate for a free lesson, golf bag, visor, collared shirts, shorts just above the knee, golf shoes, and golf club covers.
Softball Player: These girls always need sliders, fun tee shirts, possibly a new bat, (make sure the teen is present-this is a high dollar gift, by the way), a glove, (another gift where the teen needs to be present and another expensive gift), batting gloves, cleats, tokens to a local batting cage, really fun tee shirts, lots of socks, hair ties, equipment bag, water bottle, and did I mention fun tee shirts?
Soccer Player: Soccer players use lots of long socks, shorts, tee shirts, extra soccer balls, water bottles, hair ties, head bands, wrist bands, soccer shoes and tennis shoes.
Basketball Player: This sport does not require as much equipment, but these girls do need lots of practice shorts and tee shirts and of course a bag to keep everything in from home to practice. Water bottles always come in handy as well as do the hair ties and of course basketball shoes. Most teams like players to have a certain kind of shoe, but parents may appreciate more than one person going in on this gift depending on the family budget as basketball shoes sometimes are very expensive.
Volleyball Player: Volleyball players are always in need of practice shorts. It seems those shorts get lost in the laundry very often. Socks, socks, and more socks are also in demand. Purchase the athletic socks that only show just above the shoe. Water bottles, hair ties, a nice leather volleyball, tee shirts and a bag for supplies are all good completions for a player who is getting ready to join a tournament team.
Snow Sports: Small purchases include wool socks, hand warmers, various lip balms and sun screens, hats, and neck liners. These girls also can use extra goggles, long underwear that takes moisture away from the body and keeps heat in, and of course whatever equipment they need in their particular specialty.
Whether the sport of your teen is tennis, swimming, bowling or any of the above sports named, the list could continue on and on. Basic items for each sport however, do overlap such as the water bottle, hair ties, practice clothes, etc...The main thing is to get creative. As you shop for Christmas gifts remember there are also books featuring each sport, ornaments and pictures. Think about the girl you are buying for. What does she need or want?
For best shopping results look on-line for the sport in particular, or shop at a store that stocks merchandise specializing in only one or two sports or womens sporting equipment exclusively. Good luck and happy holiday sports shopping!
