Lung capacity and health

Over fifteen years ago I was a pack a day smoker, until one morning, I woke up and my breathing sounded, well, not great. I was one of those people that thought that smoking would never get to me because I had taken martial arts and was always fairly active in my life. I tried to always eat in a healthy way, which in retrospect feel that this helped me to not get cancer or emphysema.

I decided to stop "cold turkey" in 1991, never ever took a puff since then and realize that it was one of the best decisions that I ever made in my life.

Lungs are so essential for ENERGY. Without having enough oxygen and air in our bodies, everything feels like an effort.

So, wake up having a glass of water with some lemon squeezed in it.

When I stopped smoking, I immediately put myself on a conscious self-improvement program: I started buying organic carrots and making carrot juice for Beta-Carotene healing. I would add some parsley for vitamins and minerals, some lemon juice, a whole clove of fresh garlic which is known to be a bactericidal; and some onion to get rid of the mucus. I did this several times a week, along with drinking fresh water.

When I stopped smoking, I also stopped drinking coffee and drinking wine, because I felt that these poisons all go together, and it would make it easier for me to stay off cigarettes, if I changed my whole M.O.

I read in one of my health books that BIOFLAVONOIDS are very helpful for lung strength. Part of the vitamin C family, bioflavonoids consists of the white peel right about the fleshy part of citrus fruits. I went to the health food store and bought a bottle and took two per day. It did make my lungs fel stronger. I could take a deep breath without coughing.

I began eating a large fresh green salad daily and walking to flush out my toxins. Walks are extremely important, getting fresh air. If you live in the country, even better. Take advantage of that.

To improve your lung health, your food should be:
a) Preferably organic
b) Pure, no trans fat junk. Avoid fried, fatty or greasy foods.
Instead, eat steamed foods, brown rice with steamed veggies. While this may sound unappealing to you, eating healthy is very important in maintaining good lung health. Watch the salt, as salt tends to constrict cells, not open them up. Instead, add some Liquid Braggs Amino Acids to you food, with naturally occurring soybeans, and NO SALT. Much better for your heart.
