either decide whether you want to remove it by uninstalling it, or just disable it's start up on boot. most people do not recommend that though, but allot of people do. you decide. If your machine messes up from it then just re-enable that program.

You could just try booting with only the hard drive plugged in and see how it performs.
Make sure your fans in the case all turn, take the toothpick from earlier and slowly turn your fans one by one and make at least two full revolutions and see if you feel any binding or the slightest of grinding, if that is the issue then you need to replace those parts now. make sure airflow is strong and steady in one direction. In one side out the other. Make sure no dust or fuzz is blocking any of the air inlets.
When all is done place your computer on a hard smooth object that is not carpeted, carpet fuzz is a bad issue along with pet hair and dander.
