Once again another voting machine horror story just took place in the Greater Cleveland Area when the infamous Diebold voting computers twice froze up and delayed a count by a full day even though only 15% of voters turned out for the vote. But the delays dwarf the vulnerability to fraud with removable "memory cards" that can be switched, erased, misplaced, or hacked. We the People deserve nothing less than impeccable integrity in our elections.
To avoid the agonizing problems of the 2000 and 2004 Presidential elections, we should always assume the possibility, and these days, the probability of a recount, and demand a paper trail. Genuine and actual paper trails and not computer-generated "reports" or "print-outs' will only ensure the integrity of our voting process. I for one, would gladly choose a manual ballot that is clear to read and understand with a duplicate receipt issued to the voter in the event of a recount dispute. I would even go further and utilize the purple thumb dye to eliminate those who vote twice (or more) for dead and/or hospitalized citizens as was exposed in the Florida 2000 Presidential elections.
The difference of just 3,600 votes in the 2000 Presidential Elections plunged our nation into a huge trillion dollar debt with a needless war that has caused over 300,000 people to die so far with no end in sight. This is proof positive that every single vote counts and must be verified to be a genuine vote. Computerized voting invites fraud and any computer voting machine that does not provide a registered paper receipt to the voter should be recycled into prison bars to hold any and all who ever try to hijack another election in America.
