Yes, I believe that soldiers should be given the option to opt out of a war that they don't agree with.
By making a man go and fight in a war that he does not agree with either, rationally, philosophically or emotionally, is violating a basic human right.
Also, at the time of a call to war, the soldier may have a dying parent or sibling, a sick wife or a pregnant wife. There may be some situation in his life that he feels he cannot leave untended to go and fight a bigger war, in unknown territory.

I would hope, in the future, that soldiers would be given this opportunity to decline to go into battle, as they wish to stay back and battle for their home or family or personal health.
Soldiers would not be treated like sissies or chicken hearts for bowing out of a war.
Their decision would be treated with respect and personal opinions kept to a minimum.
I wonder if peer pressure from fellow soldiers or authorities, families or an unbalanced devotion to want to serve one's country, do not pressurize a young man to take part in something that, eventually, he doesn't believe in any more.
I know that when soldiers sign up for the army, fighting in a war in a foreign country is a daily reality. Until the reality becomes real, I don't believe any man would know what his decision or actions would be until that moment arrived.
God Bless and Keep the Armed Forces of the entire World
