What is wrong with this world?

What would make the world a better place?

The first thought that comes to mind when broached with this question is common sense. Where has all the common sense gone? Today's world has become so obsessed with "my rights" that the world is fast becoming a place of selfish indulgence with no thought or value for human life or the planet on which we live. People kill for senseless reasons or for no real reason at all, expect maybe the sport of it all.

What has happened to moral values and accepting the consequences for your OWN actions? Why is it that people blame something or someone else for the way they are or for what they do? Well, news flash folks, everybody is a victim of something or someone. The difference is that some chose to forge forward and take responsibility for their own lives, while others sit back with the attitude that the world owes them a living.

We have all had trials and tribulations in our lives from abuse, to broken homes, to alcoholic parents, to verbally and physically abusive husbands. Does that mean that we should all sit back and expect others to come to our rescue and do/give us everything just because we have be victimized? At what point do we say, I must take it upon myself do whatever is necessary to straighten out my life or improve my situation?

People rant and rave about equality and how their rights are being violated. They scream about how this, that, and the other offends them so it shouldn't be allowed. It's called freedom folks, the very thing our sons, brothers, dads, husbands, sons, and daughters are dying for everyday. The freedom to place religious symbols on our desks at work, to celebrate Christmas as the birth of Christ and not just another holiday, to chose to get a proper education to improve our job skills, to discipline our children so they learn right from wrong (notice I didn't say abuse, I said discipline).

People say they want equality, well then, the word illegal should mean the same thing for everybody. The same rules should apply for everyone who takes a college entrance exam. The same rules should apply for everyone who wants a driver's license and the list goes on and on.

People today don't really want equality, what they want is what is best for "ME" not what is equal or best for everyone as a nation, community, or country.

Much of our country is in a serious drought and when the governor request or pleads that we pray as a nation for rain he is slandered and told he's trying to mix government with religion. That's just plain ludicrous. If they're so smart why don't they make it rain; that's right, break out the rain making machines and let's see them produce enough rain to relieve the drought across this country. If not, then I say stand down, shut up, and let those of us that believe in a higher power pray, which is our right as an American, regardless of what position we hold. We should not have to deny our belief that God exist and works in miraculous ways just because it offends you are you are of a different nationality or belief.

Your stupidity offends me but that's your right (if you're an American citizen that is) and therefore I will ignore your stupidity and pray anyway.
