Transsexuals in the workplace

The workplace can be as cruel to those who are different, as the kindergarten recess. Notice the word "kinder" garden...What a peculiar name for socially conditioning our children. We all understand that we live in a biased society. Most of us feel uncomfortable about gender changing,so for a person who has chosen to switch teams, I think it is a sign of intelligence to avoid the daily hassles within the daily grind. The focus on the prize method of dealing with it.

I vote for an Internet writing job. If you can stay at home, you don't have to deal with office politics and unwanted gossip. Or perhaps an entrepreneurial spirit could capture the heart and mind of someone who is a transsexual. Certainly it takes a brave soul to decide to pursue such an event as gender change, so the same skills of internal bravery could apply to being an entrepreneur.

One secret to success is that only other successful people will approve. No matter how straight, how liberal, how well-dressed, how effective a communicator, expect some emotional darts headed your way, if you begin to succeed. Your co-workers will feel that your success reflects on their inability to rise, so prepare thyself accordingly. "It's lonely at the top", remember...so it's important not to take things too personally.

Would I hire a transsexual? Sure. I firmly believe what a person does in their own bedroom is their own business, not mine, or anyone else's. I sure don't appreciate having an office full of men and women speculating about my personal life! It's a lose-lose situation. It saddens me that our news media has crossed so many psychological boundaries to get a story that common decency no longer prevails in the minds of most citizens.
