Watching movies at home is by far better. While you can see a movie when it is first released by going to the theater. There is more freedom in watching it at home. I personally own over 800 movies. Any time I want to watch a particular movie I just pop it in. No waiting in line for a ticket, or concessions. If I happen to run out of something I just pause the movie. I get what ever it is I want, and go back to watching the movie. I don't miss anything. I am able to stretch out on my couch if I choose to. It is just a more all around comfortable feel to watching a movie at home.
This is not to say that I never go to the theater. If there is a new movie out that I just can't wait to see then I will go. Over all the idea of being at home, and laying out on my couch with a nice cold pop, and what ever food I want just appeals to me more.
Not to mention the fact that watching a movie at home, preferably one that I bought more then pays for its self in the long run. If you go out to see a movie you may spend twenty bucks, or more for just that couple of hours. If you watch a movie at home that you have bought, then you pay twenty bucks, and you can watch it as often as you want. So in the long run watching a movie at home is economically smarter as well.
