Before the Breaking Dawn*
The fire that may burn some day
Captures the mind
Leaves me stepping slightly to the side
To see a different perspective
A different view
Of who I am
What I stand to lose
If it is indeed a fire that is so bright
Then why has it a delicacy tonight
Passion would just not be right
It is something held respective
Something that I choose
Even if in the past I sang those blues
So I ponder
And in pondering the wonder is amazing
To be me right now
Right here
Experiencing
Sensing
These feelings so frail
Is so fascinating
That I have to remember my feet are on the ground
Take a good look around
And realize I remain alone
I vow to take that trip to that stone
And come clean my feelings decades pent
So I may finally truly love
Before the breaking of dawn
Has gone
And darkness sets in

Defeat the lies that insanely burst
and speak with
Shall I tell you my true feelings,
or the lies that make you happy?
We talk in circles around the fringes of our lives.
