How to end animal homelessness

by SH

Animals are vital to our society and community. They make us laugh when we are sad; they give us company when we are lonely; they stay by our side when we are sick; sometimes they even go as far to save people when lives are in danger. Now it is our turn to save them. Homelessness is a major issue that has being raising dramatically over the years. Many animals wonder off due to their own curiosity and never find their way back. They roam the streets starving, drenched in water from head to toe while shivering from the coldness. Their hair tangled with dirt and filth from not having bathed in over a year. Sad picture isn't it? We see these sad pictures. We hear the sad stories. Do we ever do anything about it?
So many things can be done to prevent animal homelessness. They key to lowering the population of homeless animals is to provide more shelters for animals that roam the lonely streets. These shelters should search for homeless animals and take them under their wing and care. They should be trained if untrained, and tamed if untamed. Then, Family's that cannot afford the expenses of obtaining an animal from shelters or pounds should be allowed to have one for free. At least the animals are receiving a home, right?
